The 3 main problems associated with water in cooling water systems are:
1. Scale
2. Corrosion
3. Contamination

Scale is a dense coating of inorganic material. The material is usually mineral based such as calcium or magnesium. A special class is silica.

As minerals in city water precipitate due to temperature increases or precipitation, scale may form.

Scale forms an insulating barrier in chiller systems.

Water Energizers render calcium & magnesium ions in "working" water harmless. Once the water has been treated, these dissolved solids can no longer adhere to one another nor to the system's surfaces. Furthermore, the integrity of any existing scale within the system begins to decay...cleansing the system.

Corrosion is an electrochemical process where metal returns to its natural state. Mild steel is a common metal in cooling water systems and it is susceptible to corrosion. It will return to its iron oxide state.

In order to protect against corrosion, Water Energizers technology "electrochemically"  the electron requirements of the free oxygen molecules within the system itself. This is similar to "impressed current protection".

Contamination can lead to corrosion, scaling, and fouling. takes the form of bacteria, molds, yeasts, and algae.

Contamination tends to be symbiotic. That is, they tend to occur together by providing nutrients and the proper atmosphere for each other. If you are successful in "controlling" the bacteria, other problems tend not to occur.

Choosing Water Energizers
  • NO capital investment required.
  • Using Water Energizers saves man hours no risk of injury no special safety training required handling chemicals no federal, state or local compliance forms fewer tests to run and eliminates down-time.
  • Excellent results - Choosing Water Energizers extends the life of your equipment, potential water savings, and increases energy efficiency as a result of clean heat transfer surfaces.

SERVICE

How difficult is the system to maintain? Just like a battery terminal, Water Energizers must be kept clean to allow them to expend necessary energy to protect the system. Fox Water will maintain the Water Energizers through an ongoing maintenance program.

Every month our service technicians service the Water Energizers and perform multiple tests on the systems water. These tests verify that systems are within their recommended control parameters.

Due to visits and familiarity with our customer's system(s), technicians often discover problems which may have remained undetected until system failure. This attention to detail has saved our customers costly repairs and downtime.
What about water testing?
Water tests must be performed monthly. These tests include pH, conductivity, dissolved iron, M-alkalinity and calcium hardness. The tests are done on-site by Fox Water. Additional man hours are not required by your maintenance personnel.
